TRE is a simple yet effective somatic (body-based) modality that supports the body in releasing deep muscular and nervous system patterns of stress, tension and trauma. It safely activates the body’s natural tremor mechanism, which induces vibration and shaking, which in turn releases tension in the muscles and fascia and brings the nervous system into a state of balance and self-regulation/homeostasis.

Developed by Dr David Berceli, TRE is effective for daily life stressors as well as traumatic experiences such as accidents, loss and any type of physical, mental or emotional trauma and abuse.

It is accessible to anyone, activated through a series of stretch-type exercises, which not only grounds you into your body but reduces the neurobiological effects of stored stress and trauma and regulate your nervous system (from the fight, flight or freeze to presence, curiosity and openness), allowing you to live from a place of greater embodiment, mindfulness and intentionality as opposed to dissociation, triggers and reactivity.

How to start

TRE can be done individually (in person or online) or in groups (in person only). If you’ve never done TRE before, start with a four-session series, which supports you to start experiencing the benefits of the process as well as learn the process so you are able to facilitate, regulate and integrate it yourself. If you’ve done TRE before, book however many sessions according to your need and preference.
