Trump is Not the Villain. He is the Mirror and Catalyst.

March 11, 2026

Before we dive in, if you’re willing, let’s take a moment together to pause, get heart-centred and send love, comfort and healing to everyone directly or indirectly affected by the unfolding war and violence, including yourself, our living earth mother and her kingdoms.

Trump is not the villain. And he’s most certainly not the hero either. Instead, he is the mirror and catalyst.

I find this to be not only the most accurate description, but also the most empowering and self-responsible, as it awakens us to our agency, power and responsibility. Judging him as the villain is not only disempowering, it feeds into and perpetuates the thoughtforms, patterns and consciousness that got us here in the first place, producing more of the same.

And if we’re wanting to experience something different, we need to be and do differently.

For much of the USA’s existence, it has engaged in war, violence, and oppression of other nations, benefiting from and enjoying the resulting spoils, comfort and luxury without question. But this time it is different, because like all extractive and oppressive systems, it eventually runs out of new territories, peoples, and resources to exploit and suppress, and then starts cannibalising on itself.

Looking at how people on both sides of the present divide are reacting, it’s not hard to imagine that, given the same authority, reach and influence as Trump, they would have pretty much responded in similar ways in that larger political arena. It’s essentially the same underlying consciousness and pattern operating in both the macro and micro.

Trump is merely a highly visible, peak expression of what is already pretty well established and has been underway in our world for a very long time.

He is serving as a catalyst to force us to confront parts of ourselves and the system that we have been avoiding for centuries. Mirroring back to us the inequality, the violence, racism, intolerance, fear, corruption, hyper-individualism, dominance, control, and unbridled abuse of power, all of which existed long before him. He’s simply bringing it centre stage, making it impossible to look away and ignore it any longer.

The resulting visceral reactions and polarisation are by universal design. It is to interrupt and jolt decades of denial, apathy, passive agreement and acquiescence. At the threshold of this massive evolutionary shift, the birthing of a new consciousness and planetary era, this interruption is needed; it’s essential. And as we can observe throughout all planetary and cosmic transitions, from a germinating seed or a dissolving caterpillar, to the birthing of a new baby, star, or galaxy, it is never smooth. Chaos and disintegration precede higher levels of order and expression.

This is forcing all of us, personally and collectively, to sincerely ask ourselves if what we’re seeing is indeed the kind of world we want to live in. It’s inviting us to reclaim our agency and power, which for too long we have abdicated and relinquished to external forces and authorities.

So, as we witness and become aware of the painful deeds unfolding, our work then becomes to transcend our habitual reactivity, and to instead respond with discernment, compassion, agency and wise action.

To get quiet, to go within, and get curious: What is the lesson, the gift, the medicine, the growth within this experience or situation? Where and how am I, or have I, embodied or contributed to it? Who and how do I choose to be and do now, with this new level of awareness, in response to it?

We have all co-created this experience, and having co-created it, having it exist in our reality, means it has a purpose and reason for being. Our work is to find that purpose and reason, learn and integrate the lesson, decide who we wish to be now in the face of it, and then choose differently, in thought, word, feeling and action.

We are being asked to take a broader, systems-perspective and ask ourselves what will support and facilitate this transformation with the greatest amount of ease, peace and grace. We are being invited into conscious co-creation and radical self-responsibility — for our inner state, our unhealed wounds and pain, our judgements, reactivity, and our impact. We are all interconnected, interdependent and interrelated. There is no isolated transformation.

Now more than ever, we need to prioritise staying grounded, resourced and heart-centred, and cultivating equanimity, compassion, discernment, relationships and community. These are not nice-to-haves; they are essential structural reinforcements for the new world being birthed.

Once the creation or lesson has served its purpose, it will simply fall away, as the underlying consciousness and energy that sustained it dissolves.

Given the overarching energetic and consciousness/evolutionary arch we’re a part of, and what awaits us in the year 2027, this particular lesson pretty much needs to be concluded and integrated by the end of 2026, and with that, the most likely completion of Trump’s presidency.

So, we have much inner and relational work ahead of us this year, and we can be sure that the remainder of 2026 will provide us with ample opportunities and stimuli to do so.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. It might not look as we expected, but the systemic changes the human collective has been asking and praying for are upon us. And it is asking us to embody and integrate our highest spiritual values. To move them from lofty platitudes into daily practice.

Sending love, healing and peace to all.
